Numero January 2009

I was at Starbucks today and I looked by the door and saw the new Numero Magazine.  How exciting to open up to page 28 and read the article about ME!!!!  Katherine Hopkins asked me a few months ago if I would be willing to do an interview for Numero.  An interview and a photo shoot later and it's IN!!!!!  If you get a chance - pick it up.  This issue focuses on Metal!!!!  Let me know what you think!!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!
Liz

Heading Home

Today I got the OK to head home from the Methodist Hilton.  It's been nice having all these carefully prepared gluten-free meals.  The staff at Methodist have been great!

I actually used the little grabber thing to get dressed after my shower today.  It was a little bit like the old game "OPERATION."  But in the end, I did beat the sock!  :-)

Tim's at a funeral this morning of a friend we've know for quite a while.  Kent Sefton, he was the best man at our wedding.  He was only 53 years old.  A few days ago he woke early in the morning with a terrible headache.  He died on the way to the hospital.  It's one of those things that just makes you stop and wonder.  It reminds me of our frailty.  Our future is so unknown.  It is so good to know that he had a relationship with Jesus.  Even though we are comforted, we'll still miss him!!!!   And think of him often.

Still Vacationing at the Methodist Hilton......

Today is my third day in the hosptal.  The hip replacement surgery went well.  My doctor said that I had one of the worst hips he's ever seen.  Yesterday was filled with "Highs" and "Lows".   I used a walker to walk around the the floor.  The Physical Therapy has been great.
They're re-teaching me on how to walk safely.   I had another good walking session in the afternoon.  Yesterday evening, when I got up, my blood pressure was too low.  I turned white and started to pass out.  I'm going to take it a little easier today.  The nerve on my left foot has had severe pain.  The Physicians Assistant said that it is quite common for the nerves in the path of the hip to become very painful and sensitive.  But this should go away.
